Job Summary: You will serve as an ENGINEER in the ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE ASSESSMENT DEPARTMENT of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-03 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-09 and GS-11. Salary range: $70,623 - $111,087 This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13. Salary range: $102,415 - $158,322

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) test technical agent for the Naval Ordnance Safety and Security Activity.
  • You will ensure appropriate ESD and hazard classifications are met.
  • You will perform assessments in accordance with NAVSEA instruction, at an ESD test facility to perform ESD testing and analysis to assess vulnerability of various ordnance and energetic systems.
  • You will plan and participate in various ESD test facilities, providing system design guidance/mitigation.
  • You will develop test plans, schedule tests, submit reports, and resolve technical issues.
  • You will aid in developing cost estimates and proposals with government and industry customers alongside the project manager and ESD team.

Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate: For the ND-04: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level ND-03 (GS 09/11 equivalent) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer analyzing and coordinating electrical, mechanical, or electronic testing and evaluation of ordnance or energetic systems to plan and determine solutions for an Ordnance Safety and Security activity. For the ND-03: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level ND-02 (GS 5-8 equivalent) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer applying engineering theories, principals, concepts or design requirements to evaluate and document electrical, mechanical, or electronic testing of ordnance or energetic systems for an Ordnance Safety and Security activity.
