Job Summary: You will serve as an ENGINEER in the Research and Engineering Department (E), Weapons Development and Prototyping Division (E7), Warheads Branch (E73) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15.

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as principle technical lead and subject matter expert for the research, development, and test and evaluation of lethal effects and warhead technologies including blast, fragmenting, reactive material, and weaponized unmanned systems.
  • You will be responsible for the execution and success of major warhead development projects, systems engineering efforts, and advanced technology initiatives.
  • You will be responsible for leading and managing complex warhead programs from inception through completion, including project definition, technical organization, resourcing, and directing the technical approach and qualification.
  • You will be responsible for defining the necessary resources and personnel required to execute extensive multi-year warhead development efforts.
  • You will pioneer the development of novel lethal capabilities, actively applying rapidly advancing technologies and unproven concepts to achieve significant technological breakthroughs in warheads and their integration into novel systems.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading and providing technical oversight of the research, development, and test and evaluation of various warhead technologies (i.e., fragmenting, shaped charge, and weaponized unmanned systems) while adhering to resource requirements (e.g., schedule, milestones, and deliverables) for improved effectiveness and lethality of ordnance systems.
