Major Duties:

  • You will serve as a Mechanical Engineer in the Demonstration and Diagnostics Branch (Code E63) of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division.
  • You will provide engineering support for Research, Development, Test and Evaluation efforts as needed in support of all Indian Head programs dealing with explosives, propellants, and other energetics.
  • You will perform all phases of the Research, Development, Test and Evaluation process including proposals, test planning, cost estimating, generation of safety documentation, test execution, data collection, test reporting, and project management.

Qualifications: TO QUALIFY FOR ND-4: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-3 pay band (GS-9 through GS-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer applying principles of mechanical engineering in the research, development, test and evaluation activities pertaining to explosives, propellants, and other energetics. TO QUALIFY FOR ND-3: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-2 pay band (GS-5 through GS-8 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer applying basic principles of mechanical engineering to accomplish developmental assignments utilizing basic techniques, procedures, and methods.
