Engineer, Application Development and Maintenance - ServiceNow Platform Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Developer that will join our dynamic ServiceNow Platform Scrum team. This role is focused on design, development, and implementation of new features and functionalities while enhancing existing configurations to drive business efficiency. As a key contributor, the developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, ensuring scalable solutions that align with organizational goals and deliver measurable impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing and developing technical solutions on the ServiceNow platform following best development practices to fulfill business demands.
  • Development of ITSM & scoped applications including but not limited to new catalog items, customizations and enhancements.
  • Works with partners to design and implement integration/data feeds/interfaces with other systems, such as APIs and Authentication
  • Research on feasibility of new platform functionalities and/or customization requests to satisfy business needs.
  • Creates technical documentation
  • Act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues 
  • Recommends process improvements and displays a continuous improvement mindset
  • On-call on a quarterly rotation
  • Act as lead developer who is responsible for the weekly and sprint releases including but not limited to preparing updates sets, deployment to Production and communications.
  • Hand-on with ServiceNow upgrade including but not limited to reviewing release notes and handle defects during regression tests
  • Recommend solutions to reduce technical debts

Qualifications

  • BA, BS or equivalent in related field. Advance Degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of strong hands-on ServiceNow implementation or development experience primarily on ITSM module
  • Experience with ServiceNow instance upgrades and patches along with strategy and execution
  • Experience with integration components such as SSO, LDAP
  • Experience with web technologies such as AJAX, XML, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services (SOAP, REST)
  • Experience in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes including client requirement analysis and system design, and/or software engineering principles
  • Understanding of Incident Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, and Release Management as it relates to ITIL
  • Experience with Run book automation and data integration
  • Experience with a scripting language, such as PowerShell, Perl or Python is desirable
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle tight timelines
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and with a global team
  • Experience in Agile methodology

Must Have:

  • Certified System Administrator (CSA) (Preferred)
  • Certified Application Developer (CAD) (Preferred)
  • Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Service Management (CIS-ITSM) (Desired)
  • ITIL certifications (Desired)
