Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Full Stack Developer to support and enhance an internal Java-based web pricing application. This application supports over $13 billion in revenue within the Global Medical Products and Distribution segment. The ideal candidate will have foundational software engineering experience and is eager to learn, collaborate, and grow in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based web pricing applications for the Global Medical Products and Distribution business using industry best practices
  • Contribute to all layers of the application stack, including UI/UX, business logic, database, integrations, and security
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, define project scope, and deliver solutions on time
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and evolving business needs
  • Develop a strong understanding of business domains such as pricing, contracting, master data, sales history, and sales hierarchy to inform application development
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
  • Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and cross-functional IT teams to identify and resolve performance issues across the application

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with technologies such as Java, JSP, HTML, SQL, PL/SQL (Oracle experience is a plus), SOAP, and REST APIs
  • Demonstrated passion for continuous learning and professional growth
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess issues, evaluate risks, and recommend effective solutions
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience with JIRA or similar project management tools is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • 4+ years of experience, preferred

Anticipated salary range: $94,900 - $125,000

** The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
