What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

Within the Global Planning IT organization, the team provides support to the Kinaxis application and its users. This support includes facilitating IT requests, developing enhancement requests (supporting both run and project related activities), test definition and execution, user training, documentation, issue investigation and/or issue anticipation and subsequent resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Fully understand both functional and technical capabilities of Kinaxis and related integration utilities as well as needs of users and business processes.
  • Build a strong working relationship with the Planning IT team members as well as the Kinaxis COE team members. 
  • Manage issues, document, escalate as appropriate and ensure resolution.
  • Develop and implement Kinaxis and integration related resources to support both project and run related enhancements.
  • Develop and deliver training for enhancements to the Kinaxis COE and IT team members as required.
  • Document test results and solutions and support CAH change management process as required.
  • Coordinate testing, data validation and planner data input with business users during system deployments
  • Investigate reported user issues.  Work with end users and IT partners to bring resolution.
  • Gather requirements of end-user community for enhancements and work with team members to develop standard, harmonized requirements.
  • Anticipate future needs of end-users and initiate activities to close gaps before issues arise
  • Ensure weekly completion of demand and supply plans to all downstream nodes via associated tools

Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Knowledge of demand and supply planning, forecasting, inventory and supporting business processes, preferred
  • Kinaxis experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with other supply chain planning tools a plus
  • SAP APO, ECC or S4 experience, preferred
  • Data analysis and scripting skills are a plus
  • Relational database skills are a plus (SQL, Oracle, Access)
  • Ability to grasp complex issues, even in circumstances where there is incomplete or conflicting information, or conflicting views expressed by those involved
  • Ability to steer multiple stakeholders towards a common goal and to reach consensus. 
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Ability to work autonomously in an international context

Anticipated salary range: $94,900 - $135,600
