Job Summary

Responsible for designing, building and overseeing the deployment and operation of technology architecture, solutions and software to capture, manage, store and utilize structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources. Establishes and builds processes and structures based on business and technical requirements to channel data from multiple inputs, route appropriately and store using any combination of distributed (cloud) structures, local databases, and other applicable storage forms as required. Develops technical tools and programming that leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning and big-data techniques to cleanse, organize and transform data and to maintain, defend and update data structures and integrity on an automated basis. Creates and establishes design standards and assurance processes for software, systems and applications development to ensure compatibility and operability of data connections, flows and storage requirements. Reviews internal and external business and product requirements for data operations and activity and suggests changes and upgrades to systems and storage to accommodate ongoing needs. Work with data modelers/analysts to understand the business problems they are trying to solve then create or augment data assets to feed their analysis. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience.

Additional Role Responsibilities

  • Support development workstreams with end to end business intelligence solutions design
  • Assist with backend solutions on small to medium projects and serve as backup for Lead Engineer as needed.
  • Review documentation to ensure solutions designs meet business and technical requirements
  • Conduct software and solution evaluations using the technology comparison playbook.
  • Lead or support proof-of-concept initiatives for long-range technology planning.
  • Contribute to data management initiatives as required.

Required Skills-

Technical Skills

  • Highly experienced in SQL, and ETL technologies like SSIS or Informatica
  • Experience with Python, PowerShell, and cloud technologies
  • Experience with enterprise-level reporting tools (e.g., OBI, Crystal Reports)
  • Expertise in Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik with strong data storytelling practices
  • Proficiency in Office 365 or similar productivity suites
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Experience with developing data warehouse solutions that support enterprise level business intelligence needs

Preferred Experience

  • Hands on experience developing business intelligence solutions
  • Hands on experience working with data warehouses, specifically star schema structures and dimensional modeling
  • Hands on experience with data modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
  • Understands Systems Thinking and Systems Analysis
  • Experience working with Lean and Agile methodologies
  • Experience working with SDLC and SLTC frameworks
  • Experience with E.T.L and E.L.T approaches
  • Understands differences between OLTP and OLAP systems
