GI Technical Specialist (GTS) certification
CRCST or CBSPD certification
Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
Preferred: Experience in GI/Endoscopy, Sterile Processing, or healthcare setting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of endoscopic equipment and reprocessing practices
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Understanding of infection prevention standards
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential
Performs pre-cleaning, leak testing, manual cleaning, and high-level disinfection per manufacturer IFUs.
Operates Automated Endoscope Reprocessors (AERs).
Ensures proper drying, storage, and handling of scopes.
Documents all reprocessing activities accurately.
Inspects equipment for functionality and report issues.
Maintains inventory and restocks supplies.
Tracks scopes and ensures availability.
Follows infection control standards and proper PPE use.
Adheres to OSHA, CDC, and facility policies.
Maintains survey readiness (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
Completes procedure and reprocessing documentation.
Participates in audits and quality assurance activities.
Communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, SPD, and support departments.
Assists with patient transport and room turnover as needed.
Participates in meetings, training, and process improvement.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Pay Range
