Job Description:
- As an Emulation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Intel's silicon prototyping and validation efforts for groundbreaking IP, SoC, and chiplet designs.
- Your contributions will directly impact Intel's ability to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions to market faster by enabling efficient pre-silicon validation and system-level testing.
- Collaborating across design, silicon validation, and software teams, you will create, optimize, and deploy emulation and FPGA models that accelerate the development process, ensuring functionality and reliability before fabrication.
- This position provides an opportunity to innovate and influence methodologies, tools, and processes while tackling complex challenges in the cutting-edge field of semiconductor design.
- Key Responsibilities
- - Build emulation and FPGA models using synthesis, partitioning, and routing tools to translate RTL designs into working prototypes.
- - Develop, integrate, test, and debug hardware/software collateral to support emulation, including hybrid environments combining virtual platforms and FPGA/emulation models.
- - Define and deliver new capabilities and tools to improve emulation usability, efficiency, and validation coverage.
- - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable pre-silicon verification and software development through optimized emulation platforms.
- - Debug RTL tests and troubleshoot emulator/FPGA environment issues to ensure usability and reliability.
- - Provide guidance to pre-silicon validation teams on optimizing test environments, test suites, and methodologies for emulation efficiency.
- - Focus on automation by developing scripts and flows to enhance emulation utilization and productivity.
- - Participate in IP and SoC bring-up and investigate issues impacting testbench and emulation environments for rapid resolution.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications
- - Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- - 8+ years of experience in ASIC (Logic/RTL Design) and/or FPGA prototyping.
- - Proficiency in simulation environments/tools for debug (e.g., VCS, ModelSim, Quartus, Vivado).
- - Advanced knowledge of mapping complex SoC designs into multi-FPGA platforms, with experience using prototyping systems like Zebu, Veloce, HAPS 80, Palladium, or related tools.
- - Experience in pre-silicon prototyping tools, flows, and methodologies (e.g., Vivado, Quartus, ProtoCompiler, VPS).
- - Hands-on expertise in FPGA prototyping, silicon verification, and/or system validation.
- Preferred Qualifications
- - 8+ years of experience in Logic/RTL Design or emulation/prototyping.
- - Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Perl, TCL, and GDB.
- - Familiarity with industry standards and bus protocols including PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and AMBA.
- - Experience developing Simics models for hybrid/virtual platforms.
- We invite you to bring your expertise and join Intel's journey of innovation, where your contributions will drive the future of semiconductor technology. Apply today and elevate your career with Intel.
