Position Requirements
The EMR Support and CDI Specialist is integral to maintaining efficient and reliable access to EMRs for the RCM team. This role is central to the coordination between facility EMR representatives, NAPA RCM staff, IT, and Client Services, facilitating effective CDI processes and EMR operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains a comprehensive inventory of EMR credentials, facility contacts and essential site-specific details necessary for the RCM document acquisition.
- Serves as primary liaison between RCM staff, IT, and site EMR access representatives to ensure comprehensive and uninterrupted RCM document access.
- Proactively engage NAPA IT and facility EMR representatives to document EMR access and security protocols including annual renewals and security upgrades.
- Deliver comprehensive training and support to healthcare staff on the proper use of the EMR system, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and enhancing user experience.
- Support New Site Implementation initiatives, collaborating with IT specialists to secure EMR access and facilitate the procurement of clinical documentation for CDI review.
- Assist the CDI team in ensuring the continuous distribution of paper records to NAPA facilities and provide support during EMR downtimes.
- Maintains EMR access business continuity plans including escalation protocols.
- Partner with the CDI team to ensure a smooth transition from paper to EMR, maintaining interface quality, executing testing protocols, and ensuring optimized clinical documentation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 3 years of healthcare information management experience
- Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with medical billing software, databases, and electronic medical records.
DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in HIT or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and analytic skills.
Total Rewards:
Salary: $19.67-$27.05 hourly
