About the Role

Under general direction, the People and Culture Officer provides high‑quality, responsive and accurate People and Culture transactional services, supporting a broad range of employment lifecycle related matters. The role operates with a sound level of autonomy, applying established policies, procedures and the Enterprise Agreement to ensure consistent and timely outcomes for staff across the University.

You will be working in the People and Culture Services team collaborating closely with colleagues in Recruitment, Payroll and Business Improvement.  Contributing to seamless service delivery and continuous improvement in People and Culture processes relative to the Employee Lifecycle, some of the key responsibilities of the position are:

  • Process employment matters in Workday, including contracts, re‑engagements, employment variations, allowances. Compliance checks and non‑standard leave

  • Maintain accurate employee records, aligned with the Enterprise Agreement and University policies

  • Prepare correspondence, documentation and audit reports,

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required

About You

You will have relevant experience and/or qualifications appropriate to a People and Culture or administrative support role, ideally within a complex or regulated environment. With strong organisational and communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise competing demands, you demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and a strong commitment to customer service, working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while contributing to process improvements.

Experience using Workday and exposure to HRIS processes are desirable.
