Job Summary

Under general supervision, serves as a primary contact for employee relations matters, promoting positive workplace relationships through effective employee communication and engagement. Works independently on most employee relations matters while receiving guidance on complex or high-risk situations. Provides mentorship to level I generalists while handling more complex investigations and employee relations issues. Focuses on maintaining consistent application of policies while supporting a positive workplace culture.


Essential Functions:

  • Employee Relations & Investigations
    • Independently manages employee relations investigations.
    • Analyzes investigation findings and recommends appropriate actions.
    • Manages and maintains accurate case files with appropriate documentation.
    • Provides guidance on employee concerns and conflicts.
    • Identifies and tracks employee relations trends; communicates to HR Business Partners.
    • Reviews and approves corrective actions/ Accountability Based Performance (ABP) and Performance Improvement Plans (PIP).
    • Provides comprehensive consultation to leaders on various employee relations matters. (30%)
  • Performance Management & Training
    • Coaches leaders through performance management situations.
    • Develops and delivers HR training programs.
    • Creates performance management tools and resources.
    • Monitors utilization of performance management programs.
    • Advises on policy interpretation and application. (25%)
  • Program Administration & Compliance
    • Supports the implementation, coordination, and evaluation of various programs and initiatives.
    • Ensures compliance to monitoring and reporting processes.
    • Assists leader prepare for unemployment hearings and drive high success rate for unemployment claims.
    • Partners with the leave of absence team to support leave and accommodation cases.
    • Creates and maintains program documentation and metrics.
    • Supports implementation of employee engagement initiatives.
    • Assists with diversity and inclusion program activities.
    • Partners with key stakeholders for survey and audit preparation. (25%)
  • General HR Support
    • Provides advanced policy interpretation and guidance to employees and leaders.
    • Creates employee documentation for standard situations.
    • Supports onboarding and exit processes.
    • Recommends and implements process improvements.
    • Supports organizational change initiatives.
    • Mentors junior team members. (20%)


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience HR or related field required


Work Experience:

  • 4+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with focus on employee relations required
