Role Overview: Employee Relations Consultant

Richmond, VA | In office, Monday-Friday

Joining the Employee Relations team at CoStar Group, you will contribute to the creation of a highly successful, fast paced, growth oriented, global organization. CoStar Group is seeking an Employee Relations Consultant to evaluate employee matters while also promoting a positive employee experience. This individual will be an objective partner and advisor to HR, employees, and leaders at CoStar Group. This position is in office Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Prepare thorough Investigation Summary Reports for investigations handled by other team members. Every report must offer a full account of the investigation, serving as a standalone document that provides a holistic view of the investigation.
  • Contribute to the development of investigation plans and conduct interviews impartially and thoroughly.
  • Execute investigations in a manner that fosters positive and effective relationships across the organization.
  • Collaborate proactively to advance business objectives and organizational efficiency.
  • Thoroughly document interviews and draft detailed investigation summary reports that accurately reflect the investigative process you conducted.
  • Exercise sound judgment when analyzing evidence.
  • Participate in internal initiatives designed to enhance investigative procedures and support the Employee Relations function.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned or required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university.
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, or Risk Management.
  • At least 2 years of direct experience conducting employment investigations.
  • Ability to adapt and respond flexibly to changing circumstances.
  • Apply high-level judgment during investigative processes.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments independently within designated timelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • 4 years of experience in a corporate team environment.
  • 4 years of Human Resources or Legal experience with emphasis on employment investigations.
  • Expertise in conducting a variety of employment investigations.
  • Fundamental understanding of employment law and best practices.
  • Ability to establish credibility, build rapport, and cultivate trust.
