Job Summary: The Senate Sergeant at Arms is seeking a Emergency Preparedness Analyst. Major Duties:

  • Applies knowledge and experience of subject matter within the domains of security, emergency preparedness, and continuity. Conducts basic analysis and research with sufficient fidelity to make recommendations for decision-making. Maintains situational awareness of subject matter within scope of directorate. Develops and presents analytic products with audience-appropriate delivery. Prepares written reports to examine products and services, identify issues, and design concepts for operational use. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Other Duties/ Responsibilities Required to be available at all times for sudden recall in response to emergency events affecting the Senate campus/community, and deployment to alternate locations for up to 30 days. Required Work Experience 3 – 5 years of experience in Security, Emergency Management and/ or continuity. Required Special Skills/ Knowledge As part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant’s proficiency in key areas relevant to the role. Microsoft Office suite utilization. Time and project management competency in support of essential Senate functions. Technical writing and oral communications proficiency. Working Conditions Since this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S. Senate when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, and during late night, overnight, and weekend sessions. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Senate. As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, weekends, and during late nights to ensure essential services to the Senate continue without interruption. Security Clearance This position requires that the applicant obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Government security clearance.
