Job Summary: Joining the Secret Service, Office of the Deputy Director, Operational Medicine Division provides the opportunity to contribute to emergency medicine activities for the agency. In this role, you will develop and implement medical contingency plans, conduct assessments, ensure preparedness for medical emergencies, and integrate emergency medical operations into mission-critical activities. Major Duties:
Qualifications: To be considered qualified for this position you must meet the following qualification requirements for the respective grade level in which you are applying. You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $101,401.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level performing duties such as: Assisting in conducting medical risk assessments to identify potential threats, hazards, and recommending mitigation strategies. Coordinating communication and collaborating with public safety partners to support emergency response operations. Assisting in developing and delivering emergency preparedness or medical training and/or exercises. Providing emergency field medical care, including first aid, CPR, and basic life support (BLS). GS-12: Selective Placement Factor: In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must meet the following requirement to be considered qualified for the position: Must possess and maintain an active National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification. You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $120,579) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as: Conducting medical risk assessments to identify threats, hazards, and recommending mitigation strategies to senior leadership. Coordinating with public safety partners to execute emergency response operations and protocols. Assisting in designing and implementing emergency preparedness training and/or exercises. Providing emergency medical care, including first aid, CPR, basic life support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS). GS-13: Selective Placement Factor: In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must meet the following requirement to be considered qualified for the position: Must possess and maintain an active National Registry Paramedic (NRP) certification. The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
