As an Emergency Management Specialist, you will play a key role in strengthening the resilience of our Gas Transmission & Midstream (GTM) operations across the U.S. and Canada. You’ll support and guide regional teams in implementing Emergency Management (EM) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) programs that ensure we are prepared, compliant, and ready to respond.

What You Will Do:
Lead GTM business units through annual Business Continuity Planning (BCP), including plan development, exercises, implementation, and tracking.
Represent GTM on the BCP Working Group, performing critical function gap analyses and tracking framework completion.
Manage regulatory compliance, the Integrated Management System, and Management of Change for GTM Emergency Management.
Coordinate and support Emergency Management programs, procedures, and initiatives across U.S. and Canadian operations.
Support incident response by participating in EM audits and assisting Incident Management and Incident Support Teams during crises.
Maintain EM systems and resources (e.g., SharePoint, distribution lists, subscriptions) and lead special projects as assigned.
Who You Are:
University degree in occupational health and safety, environmental studies, emergency response, or a related field.
7+ years of progressively responsible emergency response experience, ideally within the oil and gas industry. For those candidates who do not possess a university degree, and additional 3-years of related experience is required (total of 10+ years).
Strong knowledge of emergency response regulations and industry best practices in Canada and the U.S.
Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and crisis management capabilities.
Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence change and deliver results.
Strategic and conceptual thinker with relevant continuity certifications (CBCP or FEMA) and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe tools.
Working Conditions:
Office‑based role with extensive computer, phone, and research work.
Travel of approximately 10–15% to offices and field locations across the U.S. and Canada. Valid passport is required.
Flexibility to work extended hours or multiple days onsite during emergency responses.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
