Job Summary: You will serve as a Emergency Management Specialist in the in Fire Safety Program Division (Code 106C), reporting to Director of the Environmental Safety and Health Department (ESH), (Code 106), Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), MARMC Commander (Code 100), located in MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.

Major Duties:

  • You will assist with the continuous improvement in Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) for the employees of and visitors to MARMC.
  • You will organize, plan and coordinate various emergency response programs with Federal, state and local entitles.
  • You will develop and post current information concerning actual or hypothetical (for exercises) floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, storms, fires and manmade disasters on appropriate maps and charts.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning and coordinating all Destructive Weather matters pertaining to the protection and security of property, material and personnel working for and assigned to MARMC. Establishing objectives, setting priorities, determining manning/other resource requirements, developing drill packages and After Action Reports (AAR) in accordance with the NAVSEA Technical Publication Industrial Ship Safety Manual for Fire Prevention and Response - S0570-AC-CCM-010/8010 ACN 3/A for all MARMC shipboard validation exercises (VE) and full-scale exercises (FSE). Advising the Director of the Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) Department during emergency conditions and on a day-to-day basis ensure the command remains compliant with all Emergency Management regulatory requirements. Drafting exercise directives for all hazard scenarios or national emergency exercises and evaluating for continuity, consistency with requirements, and work ability. Developing after-action reports with special emphasis on lessons learned and recommendations for improvement, compiling input and identifying points of conflict and developing workable solutions and finalizing pertinent annexes to plan or exercise instructions. Demonstrating Comprehensive working knowledge of NAVSEA Technical Publication Industrial Ship Safety Manual for Fire Prevention and Response - S0570-AC-CCM-010/8010 ACN 3/A and the ability to oversee the development of realistic surface ship fire drill scenario drill guides that meet all emergency management concepts, principles, practices, laws and regulations to plan, organize, direct, operate and evaluate a Shipboard Fire Safety management program for MARMC.
