Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks an EMC Engineer. As an EMC Engineer a typical day might include the following:
Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the standards, requirements and solutions for the assigned compliance area (e.g., EMC, Safety, Product Ecology).
Develop compliance tests, procedures, and reports for EMC testing in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.
Develop and maintain a general understanding of SEL products and markets.
Provide general technical assistance to product groups.
This job might be for you if:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
2+ years working knowledge of compliance engineering practices and philosophies at an electronics development and manufacturing company
Good working knowledge of common compliance related test equipment, test chambers, and testing practices
Self-motivated/self-starter
It would be nice if you have:
Knowledge of one or more of the following compliance (regulatory, voluntary, customer) areas including standards, requirements, and solutions:
-- EMC (FCC, IC, IEC, CISPR, CE)
-- Safety standards (UL, CSA, IEC, CE)
-- Radio

Pay Range Data
We anticipate filling this position as an Compliance Engineer $97,700 - $144,400. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
