Embedded Software Engineer, ESS

About the Job  

Peak Energy is seeking an early-career embedded software engineer to join our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team and work on the development of our gigawatt-scale sodium ion energy storage system.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with the creation of test infrastructure.
  • Write tests using C++ and Python.
  • Support products deployed to the field.
  • Participate in the troubleshooting of embedded systems issues.
  • Work towards becoming a designer and implementer of real-time, C++, RTOS-based production software.
  • Adhere to modern disciplined development practices such as Clang-based linting, consistent formatting, thoughtful naming, and clear commenting.

 

Qualifications:  

  • 2+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • A degree in science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience writing microcontroller firmware.
  • Experience using hardware debugging tools such as an oscilloscope.
  • An interest in the use of Linux as a development environment and test platform.
  • An interest in the use of Git, GitHub, Earthly, Docker, or similar CI tools.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $180,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. At Peak Energy, we value our employees and promote work-life balance.
