Reporting to the Email Marketing Program Manager, the Email Marketing Developer is responsible for coding and building mobile-friendly email campaigns using HTML/CSS. This role is primarily focused on email marketing, translating creative documentation into production-ready email assets, with occasional support for SMS message creation. The Email Marketing Developer works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure campaigns meet technical requirements and business goals. This role is a 12-month contract position.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, code, and deploy email marketing campaigns, with occasional support for SMS messages

  • Monitor live campaigns to ensure successful delivery and accuracy

  • QA digital assets to ensure they are mobile-friendly, trackable, and fully functional across devices and email clients

  • Implement scripting and dynamic content to personalize and populate communications with dynamic data

  • Support operational efficiency by identifying, documenting, and implementing process and documentation enhancements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements for implementation and integration of an evolving marketing automation platform

  • Support special projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, computer science, or a related field plus 1 year of professional experience in email marketing development

  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 2+ years of professional experience in email marketing development

  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS

  • Some scripting ability (i.e., AMPscript, JavaScript, C#, Python)

  • Solid understanding of translating complex marketing requirements within a large customer database

  • Proven experience troubleshooting, identifying issues, and implementing solutions

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Experience collaborating with multiple partners, including MarTech Platform and Data Platform teams

  • Experience with an enterprise-level marketing automation platform (i.e. Salesforce Marketing Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in email marketing development

  • Experience in both B2B and B2C marketing contexts

  • Familiarity with A/B testing and optimization methodologies

  • 2+ years of experience with AMPscript

  • 2+ years of experience using project management tools (i.e., Wrike, Asana, Jira, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, and data-driven marketing platforms

  • Hands on experience with Server-Side JavaScript

  • Holds Salesforce Marketing Cloud certification(s)

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively

  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, adapt to processes, and troubleshoot emerging issues

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrates a passion for email marketing, with a focus on quality, excellence, and staying current with emerging marketing trends and best practices

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $31.25 to $36.06 per hour. This job posting is for a temporary role, and the selected individual will be employed through a third-party managed service provider.
