Job Summary: You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Communicans and Information Systems Divison (CISD) of MCLB ALBANY GA.

Major Duties:

  • You will Work collaboratively with the project manager and customer representatives to define and validate operational/ design parameters for the planned telecommunications installation.
  • You will conduct site surveys and assessments to get an accurate picture of the customer's facility, including assessments of other electronic systems that could affect the installation.
  • You will generate budgets and schedules for assigned project elements, and coordinate with other team members to integrate them into overall project plans.
  • You will Install trunk cards, station cards, central processor unit, power supply modules, and· additional interface modules with DC/DC converters and group controllers to provide the desired number of ports to equip a digital communication system.
  • You will operate computerized diagnostic and analytic test equipment to set up, install, operate and maintain digital and non-voice circuitry.
  • You will analyze system failures and unusual system occurrences brought to the team's attention either via REMEDY trouble tickets or self-identified.
  • You will perform trouble analysis and repairs on electronic key systems, 1A2 key systems, single line, and multi-line telephone troubles.
  • You will replace printed circuit board assemblies in digital PABX when diagnostic tests show system faults to a PBA level.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications systems, such as digital phone switches (PABX), Voice over IP (VoIP) systems, or electronic key systems. Installing, terminating, and testing both copper (e.g., Category 5e/6) and fiber optic (e.g., single-mode, multi-mode) cabling in accordance with industry standards (such as TIA/EIA). Using specialized electronic test equipment to diagnose and resolve system and cabling faults. Examples of such equipment include Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs), network cable certifiers, and multimeters. Applying established safety protocols for telecommunications work, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the identification of job site hazards.
