Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is for an Electronics Mechanic, Position Description Number D0874000 located in the AASF #2, Dobbins AFB, Georgia. This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership. Area of Consideration: Open to current members of the Army National Guard.
Major Duties:

Compatible Military Assignments: EMOS: 15F, 15N General Experience: Candidate must possess experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, knowledge of common testing procedures, skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematics. Specialized Experience: Candidate must have 18 months specialized experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems. Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment. Experience in using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels, etc. Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications. Physical Effort: Physical effort involves lifting components and equipment, also working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Items lifted generally weigh up to 40 pounds. Assistance is usually available with heavier items. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping is required. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside in well-lighted, heated and ventilated areas or on the aircraft in restricted places, where conditions of heat or cold may occur. Occasionally works outside in inclement weather. Subject to injuries such as electrical shock, cuts and bruises, as well as burns caused by electrical or radio frequency energy, or by soldering irons. Works in high noise environment. Willingness to attend the Aviation Electronics Mechanic Course within six (6) months of hire date.
