Job Summary: You will serve as a in the ELECTRONICS INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC in the WEAPONS REPAIR DEPARTMENT of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Major Duties:

  • Apply knowledge of a wide range of advanced electronics theory principles and practices on the various ships and submarines worked on by the WRD Production Shop(s).
  • You will maintain complex integrated systems that have frequent engineering changes such as design, construction, operating and servicing procedures.
  • You will research plans, drawings, sketches, technical manuals, factory specifications, and other publications to assure that equipment meets operational specifications.
  • You will perform system/subsystem corrective and preventive maintenance as specified by the equipment manufacturer, technical instructions, and maintenance requirement procedures.
  • You will evaluate maintenance and diagnostic results and recommend appropriate corrective/preventive maintenance action required.
  • You will use hand and power tools to disassemble equipment, as necessary, to inspect, repair, or replace components.
  • You will install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair greater complex Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Mast and Antenna Sail Systems.

This positon maybe designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) position in specialty area 41 (Customer Service and Technical Support) and as a condition of employment incumbents of the designated position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2, which include: Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned. Participate in the continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2 A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan (IDP) signed by the first line and second line supervisor.
