We are seeking an Early Careers Electronic Warfare Software Engineer to join our Mission Engineering team in Jacksonville, FL, with a primary focus on Missile Defense Systems (MDS) and Electronic Warfare (EW). In this role, you will contribute to critical programs supporting USN/USMC and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers, including systems such as the AN/ALE-47 Countermeasures Dispensing Set (CMDS) and ALQ-167 Training Jamming System.

Candidates should reside in or near the Jacksonville metropolitan area, as relocation assistance is not available. The anticipated start date for this role is January 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide engineering and in-service technical support for AN/ALE-47 CMDS avionics software and hardware components.
  • Plan and coordinate feasibility studies to improve performance, increase capacity, or resolve unsatisfactory conditions in avionics systems.
  • Assist Systems Engineering teams with testing and troubleshooting of ALE-47 CMDS, including NAVY Technical Directives (TD) reviews and cataloging engineering drawings.
  • Support FMS teams by reviewing and tracking Foreign Disclosure Office (FDO) documentation for Strike and Assault MDS projects.
  • Collaborate with Configuration Management and Logistics teams to collect data, write, and coordinate technical documentation for Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) and TD generation.
  • Review technical and engineering data, including publications and design documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university and up to 2 years of relevant professional experience, which must include at least one internship, co-op, or equivalent hands-on engineering experience. This is an early careers position.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Active/Current Secret Clearance Required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background with Microsoft Office suites, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Experience or training with computer language software (e.g., 8051 assembly language, ADA, C, C++, and/or Python).
  • Knowledge of of MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, RS-485 interfaces. Familiar with hardware system component BIT (Built In Test) parameters.
  • Familiar with Real-time Applications, serial bus communication, wiring/schematic diagrams.
  • Professional knowledge of electronics engineering concepts, principles, methods, techniques, and standard engineering practices to perform engineering assignments complex CMDS engineering software projects.
  • Knowledge of mathematical and statistical techniques to perform and interpret calculations, analyses, and computations for unfamiliar factors or relationships primarily in matters of a factual nature or involving well-understood mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of computer aided design and drafting (CADD) programs to interpret or perform design and drafting assignments, as well as utilize computer applications in support of planning, analysis, and project reporting.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, apply electronics engineering practices and procedures to a variety of conventional situations and recognize viable solutions.
  • Ability to articulate information clearly through various venues such as discussions, meetings, fact sheets, reports, design documentation, briefings, and presentations.

Location: This position is based in Jacksonville, Florida. Candidates should reside in or near the Jacksonville metropolitan area, as relocation assistance is not available.

Anticipated Start Date: The expected start date for this role is January 2026.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week

Basic Compensation: $72,000-$80,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
