Job Summary: This job opportunity is for an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, position description D2284P01, within the 177TH MXS of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. This is the AIS Flight Chief position responsible for the AIS and ECM sections in the 177th Maintenance Squadron

Major Duties:

  • As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, WS-2610-13, you will: Serve as section supervisor, exercising supervisory responsibility over assigned integrated systems repair and maintenance work operations Supervise employees involved in the maintenance, repair, and modification of integrated multicomplex avionics systems Determine the sequence, priority, and time for the performance of operations within the limits of broad work schedules and time limits Coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects Redirect individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work Inform higher level supervisors of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources Support and explains management programs to subordinates Set performance standards and makes formal appraisals of subordinates work performance Initiate recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates Review job descriptions for accuracy and makes necessary changes

Qualifications: General Experience: Must have experience or training in the following: Organizing assignments for subordinates Estimating material and manpower Using manuals and procedures Preparing production records, work records and reports Specialized Experience: Must have at least 36 months experience or training in the following: Utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic integrated systems equipment Diagnosing problems Determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic integrated systems equipment Making mechanical repairs that require the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment Using a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) Interpreting technical manuals, specifications, and publications Planning, directing, and organizing work assignments for lower grade personnel Reviewing of work requirements Establishing priorities to meet deadlines Supervising and communicating knowledge of general supervisory concepts Adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations
