Electromagnetic Warfare Planner

SMX is seeking a dynamic and innovative Electromagnetic Warfare Planner to provide research, analysis, and planning support to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Operations Directorate as part of a Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations Cell supporting U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) at Ft Shafter, Hawaii.

You will aid senior-level strategic planning and briefings, including preparing formal papers and background information for USINDOPACOM and USARPAC senior leader consumption. You'll also provide research and analysis of various pertinent national security policies, military strategies, vulnerability assessments, threat, and intelligence assessments. This position will identify operational areas of concern, inform planning efforts, and help develop new concepts and identify new capabilities for Electromagnetic Warfare.

The ever-increasing demands associated with a congested and contested electromagnetic environment requires strategic and operational partners who are properly postured to meet mission critical requirements. You will support innovative approaches to integrating partner nation capabilities as well as close coordination with Service Components, research labs, industry, OSD, and Joint Staff.

This position will work directly for the USINDOPACOM JEMSO cell with primary responsibility and place of work embedded at USARPAC.

This position requires a TS/SCI which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Aid senior-level strategic planning and briefings, including preparing formal papers and background information for USINDOPACOM and USARPAC senior leader consumption
  • Provide ELINT research and analytic detailed study to support JEMSO focused on USSPACEFOR-INDOPAC operations that will ensure freedom of action and mission assurance in all domains throughout the Indo-Pacific
  • Provide research and analysis of various EW related national security policies, military strategies, and capability integration that support USINDOPACOM operations and exercises with a specific focus on USARPAC related operations
  • Utilize state-of-the-art ELINT/processing/storage tools, technologies, and methodologies to maximize value to the operational mission
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of EW methodologies, tools, and techniques as needed, and provide feedback and recommendations to leadership in support of operational requirements

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Required clearance:  TS with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree or minimum of 15 years of experience in Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) ELINT operations, capability development and/or policy in lieu of degree
  • At least 10 years of combined experience in Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) operations, capability development and/or policy
  • At least 3 years of experience at a Combatant Command or Service Component HQ
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Indo-Pacific Area of Operations
  • Familiar with INDOPACOM Theater Campaign Plan (TCP), Deliberate and Crisis Action Plans, and Operations Plans (OPLANS)
  • Experience in writing reports, graphics, and information papers
  • Experience analyzing operational data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desired Skills & Experience 

  • Master's Degree and/or attendance at Service Command and General Staff College
  • Background in US Army JEMSO operations
  • Experience coordinating with other Department of Defense (DoD) entities, including the Joint Staff, the Office of the Secretary of Defense and INDOPACOM's Service Components as well as non-DoD organizations such as DHS and State Department
  • Graduate of Joint Electronic Warfare Theater Operations Course
  • Familiar with JEMSO applications and databases (FADE/MIST, CED, etc.)

The proposed salary for this position is:
$138,000$231,400 USD
