Electr Oencephalography - EEGOverview of Position:
Responsible for providing EEG Testing on Outpatient and Inpatients per physician order. Responsible for routing EEG’s to appropriate physician to read upon completion of test.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Conducts EEG procedures including positioning patient, proper lead placement, troubleshooting artifact and adjustment of voltage.
2. Conducts adequate wave form acquisition, transmission, analysis interpretation and storage.
3. Works collaboratively with department assistant by assisting with clerical support as needed.
4. Ensures that patients receive proper Instruction and collects necessary patient information/demographics.
5. Accurately sets up, operates, calibrates and cleans equipment.
6. Is flexible in handling changes in work priorities and handles multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Assists with customer service issues by collecting applicable information and directing concerns appropriately.
8. Cross trains in other areas to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
9. Orders supplies when needed.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school graduate or equivalency required.
2. One-year experience in allied health field preferred.
3. CPR certification, or obtain within 30 days of employment.
4. Ability to read, write and explain or describe information to patients/customers and hospital staff.
5. Must demonstrate attention to detail and be self-directed.
6. Must demonstrate effective communication skills.
