Job Description Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician with exceptional electrical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting capabilities. This individual demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and can quickly interpret complex technical documents, schematics, and specifications. With a proven ability to diagnose and resolve intricate electro-mechanical issues, this technician is well-positioned to transition into a lead builder role, contributing to team leadership and process optimization. Ideal candidates will bring a proactive mindset, technical versatility, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform assembly, installation, and testing of electro-mechanical systems and components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in production and prototype equipment.
- Read and interpret complex schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve build processes and resolve technical challenges.
- Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate records of repairs and modifications.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization.
- Train and mentor junior technicians as needed.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Build and troubleshoot single and three-phase electrical systems
- Diagnose, dismantles, repairs, and reassembles complex equipment.
- Familiar with lean manufacturing concepts
- SolidWorks experience is beneficial
Position Tasks
- Assembling electronic and mechanical parts/assemblies on new equipment. Troubleshoot as needed.
- Builds and troubleshoots, as needed, AC and DC panels.
- Field wire complex machines that are used in multiple industries
- Participate in improving the work instructions used by manufacturing.
- Train personnel in the use of test equipment, as needed.
- Read dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance.
- Compare test results with specifications and make a judgment as to acceptability of a product’s performance.
- Read and comprehended product drawings, schematics, and other graphical description of the electromechanical functioning of a product.
- Adhere to policies of quality assurance, safety, biohazard control and cleanliness.
- May be required to perform certain quality control check procedures to assure the product meets performance specifications.
- May perform training of entry level and intermediate technicians.
- Ability to travel may be required for machine installation or troubleshooting issues with machines in the field.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with PLCs, sensors, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience.
- Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive) is a plus.
“Must Have”:
- Strong proficiency in electrical systems and troubleshooting, with the ability to interpret schematics and apply advanced problem-solving techniques
- Ability to layout, build, and wire complex electrical panels
- Ability to field wire complex automation equipment
- Expertise in assembling and integrating complex automation machinery with precision and efficiency
“Nice to Have”:
- SolidWorks experience is beneficial
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization.
