Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team in our woodworking manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all electro-mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure the smooth operation of the production process. This role requires a strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems, with a focus on improving machine performance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and automated systems, including CNC machinery, saws, routers, and conveyor systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Inspect and maintain electrical wiring, motors, controls, switches, and circuit boards to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
- Repair or replace malfunctioning equipment parts, components, and devices to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machine parts.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment or modifications to existing systems.
- Collaborate with production staff to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe work environment.
- Participate in team meetings and training programs to stay updated on the latest technology and maintenance practices.
- Support and contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Technical Certification or Associate's Degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical maintenance, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Experience in woodworking machinery maintenance is a plus.
- Skills:
- Proficient in the operation and repair of CNC machines, saws, routers, conveyors, and other production machinery.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of PLCs, electrical wiring diagrams, and control systems.
- Familiarity with pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
- Certifications: Electrical or mechanical certification is a plus (e.g., OSHA, HVAC, PLC troubleshooting).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in awkward positions for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy manufacturing environment.
- Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with regular working hours.
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet production schedules or urgent maintenance needs.
- Must be available for on-call emergency maintenance outside of regular working hours.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
