Job Summary
The Electrician (Installation and Commissioning) will carry out duties associated with the installation and commissioning of electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment at customer sites within project deadlines.
The Electrician (I&C) will assemble, install, test, commission, diagnose, maintain and repair electrical networks, systems, circuits, equipment, and system components. This role will also oversee and direct Electrical Contractors and support the Field Services team with their electrical installation and periodic testing as required.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Install and commission cable and containment management systems, mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment
Install and terminate various types of cables including, SWA, FP & Singles and installation of Cubic associated equipment
Prepare cables and modules prior to delivery to site
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications to plan layouts
Assist I&C team members with inspection, testing and commissioning of electronic, electrical and/or mechanical equipment to make site good after installation of equipment
Using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults
Assist other Installation Technicians and I&C team members in the execution of their work where an Electrical Licence is required
Support the Regional Installation Manager APAC or Supervisor with preparation of site reports
Collect and deliver materials and equipment to and from sites, subcontractors, depots, suppliers and Cubic stores
Support Field Services team with Electrical fault rectifications
Ensure all electronic records are kept in accordance with processes and procedures, and are accurate, legible and in a timely manner. as required by Cubic management
Ensure all I&C works undertaken are carried out at a standard of quality compatible with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Electrical regulations, and any other relevant regulations
Attend meetings in the office as required
Perform Site Person in Charge role
Develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with I&C team members, team members from other functional departments, customer representatives and contractors as encountered while performing duties
Report all WHSE incidents and potential hazards and act on appropriate items within own authority to rectify

Minimum Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
Senior School Certificate or equivalent
Current Qualified Electrical Licence
Trade Certificate (Electrical Fitter/Mechanic)
Communication License ( fibre, communication )
Certificate III in Electrotechnology – Electrician
High Risk Work Licence – EWP
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
UETDRRF004 Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel
Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure - including Safely Access the Rail Corridor (SARC) and Operate Under Track Protection Rules.
Construction Induction (White) Card
Valid and open driving licence
Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
Minimum 5 years’ previous experience in a field-based role in an Installation, Engineering or Trade environment
Experience working in a highly technical team with a technical background preferably gained in automated fare collection or railway industry
Ability to read and interpret schematic and mechanical engineering drawings
Extensive experience in the installation and termination of cables and the use of calibrated electrical test instruments
Strong problem-solving skills and proven experience with electrical system installation, maintenance, and fault-finding
Knowledge and experience of Installing mechanical/containment systems
A comprehensive working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment regulations and other relevant legislative requirements
High level of accuracy and good manual dexterity
Ability to use electrical test instruments, read diagrams
Ability to work in cramped spaces and varying weather conditions
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with well-developed interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and maintain rapport with internal and external stakeholders
Team Leadership experience and the ability to lead team members (employees and contractors) where there may not be a direct reporting relationship
Ability to work both autonomously and productively in a cross-functional team environment
Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement
