This employee will complete maintenance requests related to the plant electrical systems and/or will conduct preventive and predictive inspections on the plant systems as requested by supervisor. Will take care also on new installations when appointed by supervisor. Study and prepare drawings and sketches for new projects. Support PET process and lean initiatives.
Typical Accountabilities:
• Develop detailed electrical scope of work.
• Perform sensitive electrical installations or modifications such as: PLC
• Components installation / replacing or programming.
• Perform Job risk analysis.
• Perform sensitive electrical troubleshooting such as: Pin point PLC logical and communications problems, VFD abnormal conditions and generators compresor malfunctions among others.
• Coordinate critical internal electrical works with outside contractors such as: Annual Electrical Shutdown and turbines maintenance visits among others.
• Perform power quality studies and develop detailed reports.
• Perform generations load test.
• Responsible to evaluate, to interpret, to recommend and to take actions related to technical reports submitted by electrical contractors.
• Able to understand and perform protection relays calibrations or adjustments if required by the supervisor.
• Operate in a safely, accurate and reliable manner the emergency electrical distribution control system.
• Able to train and assist electricians and other technical personnel in the operation and maintenance of the electrical distribution system if required by the supervisor.
• Support project activities that may include electrical installation, commissioning and testing
• Conduct activities related to maintenance during shutdown that may include sub-stations or building electrical rooms such as MCC, UPS, switchgear, breaker panel and PV solar system
