About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrical maintenance leader to join our Huntly Mine Fixed Plant department as an E&I Supervisor on a 3 days on, 1 day off, 3 days on, 7 days off, 12 hour shift roster.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing effective Electrical work plans using a standardised planning process CMMS.

  • Providing Electrical trade crew leadership by managing both planned and unplanned work groups.

  • Crew safety, work performance and people development of the Electrical teams, ensuring they are properly trained and aligned to the mines business goals. 

  • Involvement in daily and weekly planning and the development of the electrical plan each week to ensure the business needs are met.

  • Creating and improving overall work pack quality for safe, effective and efficient task completion.

  • Proactively drive plant electrical reliability from plant delay data analysis through to root cause analysis and implementing rectification and elimination strategies to increase plant availability.

  • Write, review and execute High Voltage switching programs on up to 132kV distribution network.

You will coach the crews to become an effective semi-autonomous work group that can make informed decisions to handle their own safety performance, work output, cost control, reporting and problem solving.

What you can bring to the role

  • Electrical or Electrical/Instrumentation trade qualification (WA A grade electrical workers licence) coupled with significant experience.

  • HV Switching Certificate.

  • Successful history of planning, scheduling and executing electrical planned maintenance

  • Schedule 26 - Statutory Supervisor accreditation required.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership position or have worked in a similar operation or industry to Alcoa.

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery.
