Job Summary: 

This is a hands-on, field-based leadership role responsible for executing and leading the industrial electrical scope of anaerobic digester and RNG construction projects across Ohio and Indiana. This role is not residential or light commercial and requires experience in industrial power, controls, and construction environments.

You will work within a small, high-performance, vertically integrated team specializing in biogas facilities on agricultural sites. Responsibilities include leading a crew and self-performing skilled work such as installing conduit, pulling and terminating power and signal cable, commissioning motors and instrumentation, and troubleshooting complex electrical systems.

The ideal candidate has a well-rounded background in industrial electrical construction and is comfortable traveling with overnight stays during the work week (home weekends). Depending on your home location, there may be minimal overnight travel needed (See below for location details).

This role offers significant autonomy, direct access to engineering and leadership, and the opportunity to help standardize and scale electrical systems across a growing RNG platform.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the industrial electrical scope of work for RNG and anaerobic digester construction projects.

  • Serve as the on-site electrical authority, resolving constructability and code- related issues in real time.

  • Interface with inspectors, engineers, and AHJs regarding electrical scope, inspections, and field changes

  • Coordinate material procurement and field logistics to support construction schedules.

  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, ammeters, volt meters, cable tracers, etc. as required.

  • Install electrical equipment necessary for RNG construction projects, including DC/AC wiring, junction boxes, conduit, VFDs, disconnects, etc.

  • Troubleshoot issues with new and existing systems.

  • Interpret and work from industrial electrical drawings, including one-lines, schematics, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and vendor cut sheets.

  • Install and supervise installation of industrial electrical systems, including:

    • Power distribution (480V / 277V / 208V/ 120V)

    • MCCs, VFDs, motor controls

    • Instrumentation, control wiring, and grounding systems

    • Conduit systems (rigid, EMT, PVC-coated, underground, etc)

  • Occasionally operate forklifts, skid loaders, mini-excavators and other equipment as directed by management. Strong knowledge and understanding of the safe use of various construction tools/equipment is desired.

  • Assist in developing solutions related to construction challenges that may be presented on site.

  • Maintain a clean and presentable construction site, taking pride in your work.

  • Willingness to learn new skills and construction trades, methods, and techniques.

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise Journeyman electricians who you will help hire and be a part of the team.

  • Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.

  • This role does not involve residential service work, tenant fit-outs, or production housing.

  • Other duties in support of IGS business as needed from time to time.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

This is a field-based Electrical Foreman role responsible for leading the electrical scope of work on RNG construction projects. Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting heavy items, wire pulling/terminating, etc.  Protective equipment is provided and must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, safety harness, gas monitors, etc.).

Work Schedule:

This position offers a regular scheduled work week, with a 5-day/8-hour shift or optionally 4-day /10hr shift with increased weekly hours needed from time to time. The ideal candidate for this position will live in or close to Fort Wayne, Indiana or Van Wert, Ohio. This geographic location is within roughly 30 min to 1.5 hours from most locations we are building over the next several years and would significantly reduce the amount of overnight hotel stays required.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Hold an active Ohio OCILB Electrical Contractor license, or demonstrate the ability to obtain and maintain it.

  • In Indiana and select Ohio jurisdictions, be willing and able to obtain and maintain any required local electrical contractor licenses, registrations, or permits necessary to perform and supervise work.

  • Willing to serve as the company’s qualifying party and/or permit holder of record as required for specific projects and jurisdictions

  • Must be eligible to meet all state and local licensing requirements, including background checks and legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • 10+ years of experience in the electrical trades, with a majority in industrial or heavy commercial construction.

  • Experience with industrial power distribution, MCCs, VFDs, instrumentation, controls wiring, and hazardous or classified locations is strongly preferred.

  • Must have knowledge in industrial electrical building codes.

  • Strong understanding of various construction trades.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

  • The ideal candidate will be skilled in the use of heavy construction machinery, hand and power tools and electrical trade specific tools.

  • Must be able to work from blueprints, drawings, cut sheets, manuals, process and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

  • Applicant must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

This Role Is Not a Fit If:

  • Your background is primarily residential, multi-family, or light commercial electrical work.

  • You do not have experience with industrial power systems, controls, or construction environments.

  • You are seeking a union-represented role.

  • You prefer to work indoors or are uncomfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation & Benefits:

This role is designed for a senior, high-skill industrial electrician / foreman and is compensated accordingly.

  • Base pay range: base compensation will depend on experience, credentials, and licensing with end of project bonus opportunities.

Salary Range:

$1.00 - $1,000,000.00

*This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.

This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance.
