What you will do
Johnson Controls invites you to apply for an Electrical Engineering Internship located in New Freedom, PA. This internship is designed to provide a hands-on learning experience with meaningful technical contributions. You will work closely with experienced electrical engineers while gaining exposure to real-world product development, testing, and engineering processes.
How you will do it
Support lead electrical engineers with tasks such as:
Component and part qualification
Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) design
Test box design, build, and validation
Engineering analysis and system testing
Proof-of-concept and final system testing support
Perform routine engineering tasks under close supervision using established standards, procedures, and work instructions
Assist in the development and documentation of:
Standard operating procedures
Design standardization efforts
Engineering change notices (ECNs)
Apply predetermined methods, sequences, and setups to complete assigned job duties accurately and efficiently
Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed
Complete additional responsibilities and learning opportunities as assigned
What we look for
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled full-time in a four-year accredited college or university
Broad technical foundation in:
Electrical engineering
Mechanical design principles
Control systems development
Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work productively with minimal supervision
Authorized to work in the United States full-time without restriction during the internship
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $20.00 – $24.00/hour
(Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
