We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer COOP to join our Mission Systems (MiS) Business Unit (BU). This cooperative education opportunity will support the Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) portfolio, with a focus on the Mission Management team responsible for secure voice and networking communication systems for military applications. As a COOP, you will gain hands-on experience contributing to the design and development of an aircraft-certified end instrument for use across all Mission Management.

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity). This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in the design and development of secure communication products, including System on Chip (SoC)/System on Module (SoM), microcontrollers, and FPGA-based systems.

  • Support schematic capture and electronics packaging efforts under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Help create and update technical documentation, such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Source Control Drawings (SCDs).

  • Participate in design reviews and team meetings to ensure alignment with program requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Learn and apply best practices in hardware design and development processes.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Basic knowledge of electrical design or communication systems.

  • Basic knowledge of military or dual-use communication technologies.

  • Basic knowledge of electronics packaging or technical documentation (ICDs, SCDs, etc.).
