Purpose
This position is responsible for planning, implementing and supervising preventive/corrective electrical maintenance for plants and facilities to ensure the highest reliability and availability of the plants and facilities while maintaining the highest safety standards during work execution.
Nature and scope
This position is based at Pengerang plant, reporting to the Pengerang Maintenance Engineer / Lead.
The incumbent requires to perform day-to-day operation & maintenance activities at Air Products facilities in the region. The incumbent shall follow work instruction for startup/shutdown plant; with specified quality met and maintain/improve the plant reliability.
The person shall perform routine and breakdown maintenance activities to maintain plant electrical system in reliable and efficient running condition.
The person will ensure all safety and ISO procedures are always adhered to. Providing support on electrical equipment/system such as LV MCC/switch gear, MV motor and MV switch gear (11KV).
Performs inspections of plant/facilities/off site skid. Performs work in various maintenance trades with
respect to electrical area. Support plant documentation and MOC issuance by developing rough sketches, drawings, P&ID’s, ladder/SLD diagrams and etc as needed. Troubleshoots and repairs electrical circuits.
The person shall assist maintenance lead but not limited to MOC preparation and execution, plan TAR activates and execution, root cause analysis & troubleshooting, Risk Analysis, SWP, FMEA and HIRARC review.
The person will need to support projects which are related to electrical topics.
The person will need to bring up the electrical skill level of the site O&M folks. To provide coaching and training as needed for troubleshooting.
The position is required to be on call (24hrs) for troubleshoot the plant issue either on-site or remotely for electrical related topics.
The person will work closely with other stakeholders, with technical team from other sites and Operation Technical Support (OTS) team on standard and best practices deployment to site under care.

Act as a competence person BO 11kV for operation and maintenance of electrical system. Oversee all activities related to electrical works as to comply Energy Commission of Malaysia Act 1994.
To liaise closely with site lead on timing of regular preventive maintenance programs as per SAP PM02 and train/educate team members in efficient and safe task execution methodologies.
To ensure that electrical specific PPE and tools are routinely inspected and audited. Escalate issue to site maintenance lead when required.
Supervise and advise site maintenance lead on proper and regular maintenance of equipment contracted to vendors and periodical review on their performance.
To ensure that proper electrical safety practices and measures are conducted by site electrical lead by routine audits.
To assist and advice site electrical leads on electrical items sparing strategies and inventory.
To advise, implement and perform any modifications deem necessary for improvement in the operation and safety aspects of electrical and instrument equipment for plants. To support MOC issuance for site lead.
To ensure all electrical equipment have the necessary protective/safety feature(s) so that electrical hazards are eliminated/reduced to a minimum in plants by planning and conducting routine audits.
Ensure all sites are compliant to all Energy Commission of Malaysia regulatory requirements
Support projects (plant project or GEM) from time to time on electrical matters whenever assigned by the maintenance manager.
Ensure accurate records and related maintenance logs are kept and updated. Adhere to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001, Halal recertification and FSMS procedures where applicable and support the formulation of related standards as per business requirements.
Facilitate audits processes to assess the compliances of AP On site operations activities against to AP’s standard or relevant applicable standards and to close the findings (i.e., ISO standards, AP Corporate EHS audits, Halal recertification audits, customer audits).
Other responsibilities assigned according to operations and business requirements from time to time.
