Silent Aire

Who We Are

Silent Aire, part of Johnson Controls, is a global leader in designing and manufacturing mission‑critical custom air handlers and modular data centres for hyperscale cloud and colocation providers. We deliver high‑performance solutions that prioritise quality, scalability, and rapid deployment.

What You Will Do

As an Electrical Engineer you will collaborate with engineering managers, mechanical teams, and controls specialists to deliver electrical and controls design for custom air‑handling equipment used in mission‑critical environments.

You will work closely with our Electrical Panel Manufacturing team to design bespoke electrical panel layouts and create high‑quality drawings that turn complex customer specifications into robust, safe, and scalable solutions.

Your work contributes directly to the entire project lifecycle — from concept and design through manufacturing and final documentation.

How You Will Do It

  • Analyse and interpret project specifications and drawings, ensuring full compliance with electrical and controls standards.
  • Develop detailed power distribution schematics using CAD tools, aligned with customer requirements and industry codes.
  • Produce controls schematics and electrical/control panel layouts for custom air-handling equipment.
  • Apply engineering theory and relevant codes to correctly size electrical components.
  • Carry out calculations including MCA, overcurrent protection, and amperage.
  • Select, assess, and specify electrical and control components, creating clear and accurate bills of materials.
  • Prepare detailed project submittal packages - drawings, data sheets, calculations, and product documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with mechanical and controls engineers to ensure seamless interdisciplinary design coordination.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams (manufacturing, production, procurement, field engineers) and external customers.
  • Support bid efforts through accurate estimating and technical input.

What We Look For

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc Eng, B.Eng.) or Electrical Engineering Technical Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical and controls design (HVAC or similar industries preferred)
  • Strong understanding of electrical and controls components, codes, and standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical and related design software
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to integrate new technologies into existing systems
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • A proactive, self-driven approach and commitment to continuous technical learning
