Electrical Engineer Intern - Summer 2026

About the Job: 

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer Intern to support the design, development, and validation of electrical systems across our energy storage platforms, from battery systems to power electronics and control hardware. This role will work closely with design, firmware, and test teams to understand system requirements, assist with hardware development, support lab validation, and contribute to engineering improvements. 

Through hands-on engineering work, you will play a key role in supporting product development and informing design decisions. This person is a self-starter who is hungry for knowledge and holds themselves and others to high standards. Candidates should be available to begin employment in Summer 2026. 

 

Responsibilities: 

• Support development and validation of electrical systems across our energy storage products 

• Assist with schematic development, component selection, and electrical design activities 

• Support board bring-up, lab testing, and debugging of electrical and power electronic subsystems 

•  Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure design integrity and continuous improvement 

•  Collect, analyze, and interpret electrical test data to support engineering decisions 

• Troubleshoot electrical and integration issues using standard lab equipment 

• Assist in development of test procedures and validation plans for electrical hardware 

•  Support prototype builds and rapid hardware iteration cycles 

• Maintain detailed documentation of designs, tests, analyses, and corrective actions 

• Interface closely with design, firmware, simulation, and manufacturing engineering partners 

• Drive and participate in a culture of rapid prototyping and automation 

•  A great team spirit and get-it-done attitude. No job is too big or too small. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field 

• Coursework or project experience in circuits, electronics, or power systems 

• Strong understanding of electrical engineering first principles 

• Experience working with hardware in laboratory or project environments 

• Familiarity with common electrical lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies) 

• Exposure to data processing or analysis tools 

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and act decisively 

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly 

•  Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 

•  Proactive ownership mindset with a strong sense of accountability
