Electrical Engineer II

Salary Range: $85,000-95,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new electronic hardware and enhance existing designs to meet customer needs, manufacturing constraints, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and market expectations
  • Perform analog and digital circuit design, analysis, and simulation to support product development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (software, FPGA/firmware, mechanical, and materials) by providing technical input and supporting documentation
  • Conduct hands-on debugging, failure analysis, and laboratory testing of electronic assemblies and systems
  • Support prototype builds by coordinating with manufacturing and external partners
  • Create, review, and approve technical documentation, including design records, test plans, and validation procedures
  • Contribute to and, at times, facilitate interdisciplinary design reviews with internal stakeholders and customers
  • Provide technical assistance to internal teams, vendors, and customers throughout the product lifecycle
  • Follow established safety procedures and actively support continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental initiatives
  • Travel occasionally for business needs (less than 5% annually, domestic and international)

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • At least three (3) years of professional experience in electronic hardware design within a regulated environment
  • Proven experience designing analog and digital circuits, including operational amplifiers, comparators, discrete components, ADCs, and power switching architectures
  • Strong hands-on background in diagnosing and resolving circuit-level and system-level issues
  • Practical experience using standard electrical laboratory and measurement equipment

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Solid understanding of circuit behavior in both time-domain and frequency-domain analysis
  • Ability to model, analyze, and solve electrical circuit problems using mathematical and computer-aided tools such as MathCAD
  • Experience performing detailed tolerance and margin analysis using tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, and Excel
  • Proficiency with schematic capture tools (e.g., Cadence OrCAD or equivalent)
  • Experience with circuit simulation software such as PSpice or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach and well-documented assumptions
  • Effective communication, collaboration, organization, and project coordination abilities
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with EMI, RF emissions, susceptibility testing, and lightning-related compliance requirements
  • Experience with digital hardware designs involving microcontrollers, DSPs, and digital communication interfaces
  • Exposure to PCB layout activities and/or review of routing and layout constraints
  • Knowledge of DO-178C and/or DO-254 standards
  • Familiarity with ARP4754A and ARP4761 processes
