Job Description
Reporting to the Electrical & Support Superintendent, this is a diverse and technically engaging role supporting the Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM), Operational Technology, electrical infrastructure, and operational projects. You will provide technical expertise and engineering support across all areas of accountability within the Open Cut Engineering and Maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical engineering leadership and technical authority across site operations, infrastructure, and improvement projects
- Deliver engineering support for LV and HV electrical systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability of site assets
- Support Operational Technology systems through design input, optimisation, and fault resolution
- Apply reliability and asset management methodologies (FMEA, RCM, RCFA) to improve asset performance and reduce downtime
- Lead electrical fault investigations and implement sustainable engineering solutions
- Contribute to electrical standards, procedures, and governance across the operation
- Partner with maintenance and operations teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Actively promote and uphold a strong safety culture and statutory compliance in all electrical activities
About You
You are an experienced and technically capable Electrical Engineer who takes ownership of engineering outcomes in a complex operational environment. You are safety-focused, commercially aware, and able to balance operational priorities with sound engineering judgement. You thrive in site-based roles where practical problem-solving, collaboration, and accountability are essential to success.
You are comfortable working across operations, maintenance, and projects, and you bring a structured, data-driven approach to improving asset performance and reliability.
You will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
- Significant experience in electrical engineering roles within mining or heavy industrial environments
- Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining HV and LV electrical infrastructure
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance management systems and asset management principles
- Practical experience applying reliability methodologies including FMEA, RCM, and RCFA
- Proven ability to lead technical problem-solving and root cause investigations
- Well-developed analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- A strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and engineering best practice
- Exposure to Operational Technology systems (desirable)
- Eligibility for, or progress toward, RPEQ or equivalent professional registration (desirable)
