Job Description Summary

As an Install Base Electrical Engineer within the Infant Care (IC) hardware team, you will play a critical role in sustaining and enhancing our existing Maternal and Fetal Care product portfolio. Your responsibilities will focus on supporting and maintaining Printed Wiring Assembly (PWA) boards, ensuring reliability, compliance, and performance across our installed base. You will work across the full lifecycle of electronic hardware, including troubleshooting, design updates, and firmware support, to keep our products operating at the highest standards.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Circuit Design: Develop electronic circuits and interconnects involving Digital, Analog, Power, and microcontroller/microprocessor-based designs.

  • Simulation and Analysis: Conduct circuit simulations using pSpice and perform design calculations for active filters, switched-mode power supplies, and derating analysis.

  • Product Development: Engage in the complete product development lifecycle, including concept, architecture, prototyping, documentation, testing, supply chain management, manufacturing, and service support.

  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive hardware design documentation (HDD), design verification plans (DVP), FMEAs (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), and formal board-level verification reports.

  • Troubleshooting: Address board bring-up challenges and oversee design verification and validation processes.

  • Install Base Management : Handle part obsolescence, support resolution of field complaints, and drive CAPA closures.

Required Qualifications:

  • ​Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Electronics & Communication Engineering (BE/BTech)

  • 3+ years of experience in end-to-end electronics or hardware design and development process.

  • Strong experience in analog and digital circuit design

  • Experience in schematic design and electrical validation

  • Exposure to product development and engineering documentation

  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and debugging electronic systems

Desired Qualifications:

  • Troubleshooting knowledge in the board bring-up using oscilloscope, Function generator, Spectrum analysis and data logger.

  • Familiarity with design simulation tools like pSpice or LTspice.

  • Experience collaborating with ECAD engineering teams on PCB layout design.

  • Experience in medical devices, automotive, or industrial electronics

  • Familiarity with regulated industry environments

  • Knowledge of microcontroller-based system design

  • Experience handling component obsolescence and supplier interactions

  • Exposure to field issue investigation, CAPA, and non-conformance processes

  • Basic understanding of simulation tools

  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills

  • Strong teamwork, coordination, and communication skills.

  • Ability to meet rigorous targets for reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery..

  • Experience with global projects is a plus.

Quality Specific Goals:

  • Adhere to GE Healthcare’s Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and relevant laws and regulations.

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance issues, taking immediate corrective action as necessary.

  • Support the closure of regulatory and quality requirements before completing Design Outputs Program Deliverables
