Electrical Engineer

Position Summary:

This role will be functioning as a product design engineer who will focus on electrical systems based at our R&D facility in PA.

A Day in the Life: 

An Electrical Engineer role with our R&D team encompasses a wide variety of tasks where one day does not look exactly like the next. 

Typical tasks can include:

  • Product design focused on improvements for product line through the various CAD software and hands on work in our lab.
  • Receiving and analyzing feedback from plants and service for product issues or recommended improvements.
  • Component acquisition work with supply chain team.
  • Working with the R&D team to solve issues seen by our sales team, the Application Engineering team and our service team on product issues.
  • Solving software and background issues alongside internal IT team.

From an R&D Engineer: I love that my job is not focused solely on a singular component or a singular system and instead blends both practical and theoretical knowledge. I am constantly involved in different aspects that involve our products which allows me to keep a wholistic view of the work I am doing and its impact. Traveling to get boots on the ground at our plants to hear their feedback or going to performance testing has also been very interesting. 

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, test and implement all electrical systems and products
  • Full understanding of electrical schematics and electrical system design
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits and hardware utilizing tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • Handle equipment installation, removal, upgrades, modifications, and electrical assembly

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering 
  • 0-5 years of engineering design and electrical knowledge 
  • Understanding of electrical circuits and PCB design
  • Self-motivation to keep up with current electrical advances using new technologies
  • Full working knowledge of AutoCad and electrical schematics
  • Familiar with safety testing and agency approval. 
  • Understanding of electrical tools and equipment: crimpers, multimeters, connectors, relays, contactors, wire gauges/types, soldering, etc.
  • Must be willing to travel to manufacturing facilities and job sites as required.
  • Basic HVAC understanding PREFERRED

Salary: 

$65k-$95k base, negotiable dependent on experience, with additional monthly bonus based on productivity and profits.
