As our next Electrical Designer, you’ll be at the forefront of designing, developing, and supporting electrical control systems that power world‑class automated assembly lines. Your expertise in PLC/HMI systems, EPLAN, machine commissioning, industrial controls, and troubleshooting will be essential in creating innovative automation solutions across all AGC operations.
• Design and develop electrical control systems for automated machinery and equipment.
• Test and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs.
• Support installation, testing, and debugging of electrical components during startups and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot controls, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems during FAT and provide remote field support.
• Perform Proof of Concept activities for complex issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to design automated assembly lines.
• Create and maintain documentation for new and existing equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with ISO and JE policies in all activities.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Post‑secondary education in Electrical Engineering/Design, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Electromechanical disciplines.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as an Electrical Designer using EPLAN.
• Knowledge of CSA, UL, and industrial robot safety codes.
• Strong ability to read/create electrical prints and apply controls design principles.
• Expertise in PLC/HMI systems and machine commissioning (I/O checkout, Ethernet/IP, machine safety setup).
• Ability to work independently with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Hands‑on capability to safely swap components (asset).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SolidWorks pneumatic drawing experience is an asset.
• Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
• High integrity, dependability, urgency, and results orientation.
• Experience supporting robotic or CNC‑based automation systems.
• Background in troubleshooting complex automation issues during FAT.
• Experience mentoring or training other technical staff.
