What will you do in this role?
- Interpret design input information to produce control system designs.
- Ensure systems designed and supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive.
- Produce design and manufacturing programs.
- Produce all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.
- Design and produce electrical layout and schematic drawings using appropriate CAD tools.
- Procurement of electrical control panels and installation services; and liaise with suppliers on technical matters.
- Liaise and provide technical information to respective internal teams such as electrical installation supervisors, subcontractors, Project Sales, Project Engineers, Project Managers, Purchasing Department etc.
- Provide technical backup to the service team as required, including bug fixes, enhancements, and modifications.
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience as Controls Hardware Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer or similar role.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive proven hands-on experience working within an industrial automation environment.
- Desirable experience working with E-Plan, AutoCAD, MS Package.
- A working understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
- Good understanding of distributed control systems and the principles of industrial networks used to connect and integrate control systems.
- Understanding and use of relevant design requirements such as the Machinery Directive and its harmonized standards, with experience in European Standards.
- Occasional travel to customer sites within the Southern European region and occasional travel to other Dematic offices or facilities in the undertaking of duties.
