Job Summary
The role holder will ensure reliability and safety of the Bank’s electrical infrastructure and the Absa Sustainability Agenda relating to Property and Infrastructure. The role holder will be responsible for maintaining the bank's power supply, ensuring the smooth operation of critical systems like Data Centres, Branches, ATMs, Security Systems and staying abreast of evolving technology to enhance efficiency and security. As party of duties, the role holder will also be responsible for driving the Sustainability initiatives and generating ESG reports in CRES. The role will also include other duties such as reviewing and localizing Environmental Management Standard, Engineering Standard, CRES Policies, preparing monthly snap checks, contract administration, supervision of payments, Supplier Relationship Management, generation of Management Information.Job Description
Accountability: Electrical and Environmental Sustainability - (60%)
Outputs:
Timely responding to electrical faults and managing remediation for all bank property, including Branches and ATM sites.
Conducting electrical reticulation dilapidation assessments in Absa Offices, Branches and ATMs and preparing actions and specifications required for engaging electrical contractors. Ensuring the branches operate smoothly and in a comfortable environment, with the most minimal power interruptions.
Conducting annual Electrical Integration Tests (IST) on critical sites like the Head Office and Disaster Recovery Site in line with Absa Standards.
Reviewing and challenging the designs for electrical systems and components, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.
Conducting solar and electrical works preliminary assessment in order to raise reliable, well informing business requirements and scope for contractor or consultant appointments.
Reviewing and challenging the designs for electrical systems and components, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.
Collaborating with external consultants and internal stakeholders to incorporate sustainable practices into the design and construction of projects.
Ensuring all designs and projects meet relevant environmental regulations and standards for safety and sustainability.
Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources for electrical and sustainability-related projects.
Analyzing energy consumption data, assessing system performance, and preparing reports for stakeholders.
Staying up-to-date on the latest sustainable technologies and methods and researching new ways to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Managing the maintenance of installed solar solutions in Absa Property (Offices, Branches, ATMs, etc).
Generating Electrical projects progress reports and Management Information for stakeholder alignments.
Providing overall sense checking of quotations once received from vendors to ensure adherence to sourcing guidelines and procedures.
Ensuring that service contracts are in place and monitored for generators, air conditioning, fire, UPS systems, general electrical repairs and maintenance.
Ensuring that maintenance schedules are in place for UPS systems, electrical systems, switchgear, HVAC and air-conditioning units, emergency lighting and lightning protections systems etc are inspected, tested, serviced and maintained.
Ensuring that biannual electrical check are undertaken in all branches
Accountability: Stakeholder Management, Risk & Control (25%)
Outputs:
Engage with Branch Managers, Team Leaders and other key stakeholders to ensure effective routine maintenance of bank property.
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Absa Operational Risk Framework and internal Absa Policies and Standards
Ensure that all Issue Closure Packs (ICP) are closed in time.

Education
Higher Diplomas: Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology (Required)
