What is a Electric Vehicle Program Manager?
The Electric Vehicle Program Manager supports the design, implementation, and management of customer-facing initiatives that advance transportation electrification within Central Hudson’s service territory. This includes programs that incentivize electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), promote off peak charging through rate alternatives, and expand managed charging and broader electrification efforts. The role is essential to supporting manageable load growth and aligns with both Company objectives and New York State’s clean energy goals, particularly those outlined in the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA).
What does an Electric Vehicle Program Manager do?
Assists in the implementation and operational oversight of the Company’s electric vehicle related programs and initiatives
Contributes to program design, analysis, tracking, management, forecasting, and evaluation
Supports the day-to-day relationship with external service providers, including interpreting and adhering to established contractual agreements and/or service level agreements, managing vendor performance, and driving results in support of Company targets
Collaborates with New York State Department of Public Service and New York State Joint Utility working groups to support statewide energy goals
Represents the company's position throughout the regulatory process, including the development of comments and filings, results reporting, participation in technical sessions, and supporting information requests
Pursues opportunities for continuous improvement of program design and implementation
Seeks cost-effective approaches and program enhancements to offer to customers
Provides customer service, support, and issue resolution as needed
Represents Central Hudson at community outreach and industry conferences & events
Supports storm/emergency restoration efforts
What does it take to be a Electric Vehicle Program Manager?
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Mathematics, Energy, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Strong analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills with high attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present amongst internal and external stakeholders (e.g. industry conferences, joint utility working groups, Department of Public Staff)
Interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and manage relationships and collaborate across departments and outside partners.
Capable of problem-solving and thinking creatively to identify and implement innovative solutions
Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities
Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and strong work ethic
Commitment to continuous improvement in program performance and customer experience
Must be willing to occasionally work outside of standard business hours and travel outside the service territory for joint utility collaborations, industry conferences, technical workshops or in person collaboration with other utilities and the NYS Department of Public Service.
A valid driver’s license
Preferred:
Knowledge of electric vehicles or experience in the electric utility industry
Advanced degree
Experience in data analytics, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
Prior experience in the EV transportation industry

Pay range: $82,600-$171,300
