1Provides direct support and assistance to the Deputy Clerk and Election Team with the coordination of various activities related to the effective implementation of the Municipal Election and related processes, which includes:
Minimum Qualifications
Post-secondary diploma or degree, preferably in public administration or government relations programs
Experience interpreting provincial legislation and regulations
Able to prioritize work and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Available to work flexible shifts or overtime as required
Able to work in a highly confidential environment and maintain a high level of integrity
Strong communication and customer service skills with ability to communicate and deal with all levels of staff, public, other government agencies and candidates in a professional and courteous manner
Effective organization and time management skills
Able to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem solving and dispute resolution skills
Proficient in Windows based software including Word, Outlook and Excel
Valid Ontario Driver’s License with driving record that demonstrates responsible/safe driving behaviour and use of a personal vehicle is required
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum one (1) years’ experience in a municipal environment
Knowledge of municipal legislation
Knowledge of municipal elections
Experience related to municipal elections is an asset
