The Opportunity
The Safety and Technical Services Canada Class Assessment team is seeking a focused and motivated engineer to join our team. In this role you will be supporting multiple TC Energy pipeline integrity management programs by performing various engineering and technical analysis of its Canadian pipeline systems.
The successful candidate will work closely with multiple key internal and external stakeholders (i.e. technical subject matter experts, regulatory compliance, field operations, external vendors and third parties).
The Canada Class Assessment team assesses the Canadian natural gas pipeline system for conformance with regulated codes and standards, and sponsors remediation projects to ensure safe long-term operations.

What you'll do
Utilize and apply engineering knowledge in planning and conducting engineering analysis
of significant scope and responsibility
Gather and analyze data in support of assessing and quantifying integrity threats to the
pipeline
Determine compliance to pipeline design requirements
Perform Engineering Studies to determine the continued safe operation of the pipeline
Review and assess development applications to identify future remediation work
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to reach optimized solutions
Define high-level work scope for remediation projects
Provide technical support to other Pipeline Integrity Stakeholders as required
Develop and update integrity related procedures to support the continual improvement of
TC Energy’s Pipeline Integrity Management Program
Contribute to a continuous improvement culture related to process and procedures,
supporting efficiency and consistency efforts
Perform design reviews for pipeline projects
Communicate and report technical and project work progress to Leadership
Generate statistical reports as needed
Provide guidance/mentoring to Engineers-in-Training and students
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Registered as Engineer-in-Training with APEGA in Alberta in good standing
A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience
Thorough understanding of Canadian regulations and standards related to pipelines
Experience in developing technical procedures and processes to ensure safety, compliance, efficiency and effectiveness
Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, in English, both written and oral
Solid computer skills, ability to learn customized software in addition to SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
Be registered, or eligible to be registered, as a professional engineer (P. Eng) with APEGA in good standing
Self-motivated individual with excellent work ethic and strong desire to learn and develop
Have exceptional analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail
Proven ability to collaborate and contribute in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to problem solve by applying engineering principles and developing effective solutions
Understanding of pipeline design, facility design, pipeline integrity and risk analysis
Project Management experience
Ability to effectively manage your time, multi-task and work independently as may be required
Experience with ArcGIS or other GIS Platforms
