Your role at Baxter:
You, as EHS&S Sr Manager, will directly lead EHS leads and associated professionals within manufacturing operations. You will coordinate compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety laws and company regulations. The role s responsible lead, develop, implementation, sustain and improve EHS programs and management systems, compliance obligation tracking and driving a harm-free workplace culture.
The role must collaborate with multi-functional teams within the organization to address and provide solutions for EHS&S opportunities across locations or/and segment within their designated Operations, aligning the corporate strategies, policies, training, and procedures, continuous improvements and aspiring to reduce/eliminate risks within the operation.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead professionals and/or project teams to develop, implement, handle, and/or ensure conformity with health, safety, environmental, sustainability and/or industrial hygiene compliance programs and organizational guidelines.
- Evaluate and act upon new environmental & safety laws. Ensures compliance with regulations and company policies related to ecological, health, safety, and sustainability concerns; keeps track of new changes in ecological, health, safety, and sustainability laws and topics.
- Lead and coordinate the planning and rollout efforts on the operation to ensure alignment with EHS&S central initiatives and goals.
- Develop strategies for cultural changes and programs to generate awareness across the areas and levels.
- Review, develop, train, implement and maintain compliance with Corporate EHS policies and local laws, standards, and procedures in alignment with functional vision, mission, and strategies.
- Participates in regional EHS&S Compliance and audits and/or support other segment sites.
- Assure complete investigation, root cause analysis and action plan development related to EHS events or PSE at the site. Assure implementation of corrective, preventive and effective actions.
- Coach and advise decisions, as well to the leadership team, on projects, programs and activities to improve EHS performance and results.
- Conducts or reviews research that helps to better handle sophisticated EHS&S risks and, if applicable, uses to influence external advisors.
- Recommends different approaches to improve EHS&S; can communicate technical positions in accessible terms.
- Applies niche knowledge to supply and standardize to EHS&S strategy development and deployment.
- Develop, implement and/or ensure EHS&S Risk Management in all areas, ensuring programs/actions to reduce/mitigate and prevent impact. Analyzing potential consequences on nom-routine operations and projects, leading and developing Management of Change (MOOC) program.
- Develop, implement, ensure and improve the Management System: ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Maintain facility operating permits up to date, and advise new permits related to operation and construction.
- Acts as company representative in looking after the government agencies on ecological, wellness, and safety matters impacting the operations.
- Develop and further a team environment among EHS members.
- Keep informed on the lasts the developments in federal and state safety and environmental laws likely to affect the facility.
- Assist SLT to understand regulations and standards set by PRASA, CNR, OSHA, and EPA, including mentorship on leading compliance, inspections, and citations associated with these agencies.
- Observe confidentiality and data privacy rules at all time.
- Develop, implement and ensure emergency preparedness and response, to support Threat management and business continuity plan.
What You'll Bring !
- University degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Occupational Health and Environmental Hygiene or related career.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in workplace safety, preferably in manufacturing areas.
- Minimum 2 years supervising personnel. Sophisticated English, bilingual desirable.
- Knowledge of Standards and Regulations (ISO, FDA, NFPA, NEC, ASTM).
- Knowledge of project management.
