What will you do in this role?
Maintains environmental, health and safety programs and supports multiple sites across the organization. Assists management team with monitoring environmental compliance and safety metrics (i.e. chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention). Ensures that all Licensing, Permitting or other environmental health & safety requirements are met and ensures non – compliance issues are resolved. Conducts compliance training, audits and inspects sites or lab environments to ensure compliance with global occupational safety and health standards. Recommends corrective action where hazard or risks exist. Complete risk assessments through observation of tasks and use of existing templates. Risk assessments may be chemical, biological, ergonomic or task based.
Qualification requirements:
Education requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Experience requirements:
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).
Knowledge of laboratory protocols, Laboratory Safety Standard, OSHA and HAZCOM is required.
Knowledge of Health and Safety related programs, incident and injury prevention is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, IATA, and other applicable regulations
Knowledge of worker's compensation requirements, laboratory and hazardous waste regulations to include hazardous chemical/biohazard storage and disposal regulations
The ability to plan, schedule and carry out work for successful project completion.
A positive attitude and ability to work well with others and excellent attention to detail.
Be able to communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction.
Understanding of Industrial Hygiene monitoring strategies.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to provide effective training
Solid problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong judgment and business acumen
Strong computer skills
Location: Onsite in Covington, KY. Relocation assistance is NOT provided.
